The Chronic Care Club Support Group
Previously the support group for chronic care was only available in the clinic. Pastor Monwa decided that such a support group should also be in the community. Through the church he collected three sewing machines and beads. Currently, a group of women congregate Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the church, where they can teach each other sewing and beading skills. While they bead and sew they also share their experiences with each other. Every second Saturday of the month the group holds a planning meeting. They share much more than just their health problems. They talk about many things including the challenges they face in their home lives and their relationships. They pray together and pray for others. As many of the women find it difficult to find work and support their families, they hope to generate income by selling their handicrafts.
If you would like to donate a sewing machine, beads, cloth, yarn or thread, please get in touch with us or send directly to Pastor Monwa.
